Sir George Young formally opened Abbotts Kitchens, recently established at Unit B, Hunting Gate on the East Portway Estate in Andover.
"Graeme McDonald came to see me a few weeks ago, and told me about this new venture. With his brother, who has experience of designing and building kitchen cabinets, he and a third partner have invested in this new project.
They have a very impressive factory/showroom, and they have already got new customers. They have leafleted the village where they live, and I was very impressed by the kitchens which they had on display. They offer a bespoke service to customers."
When he cut the ribbon, Sir George said he had detected a loyalty in Andover to shops, factories and service providers that had roots in the community.
"I am sure there are many people who, when considering who to get their new kitchen or bedroom from, will consider a company that employs local people and is easily accessible".
Abbotts Kitchens offer a free design service, as well as a fully managed service from concept to completion.
